HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation

This unit of competency provides the skills to recognise and manage a person who is in cardiac arrest. This training will certify you to:

  • Provide CPR life support
  • Management of a casualty and,
  • Management of an incident and other first aiders until the arrival of medical assistance

Duration: 2 – 3 hours of face to face training.

Entry Requirements: Students must have the physical ability to provide resuscitation by kneeling on the floor and performing two (2) minutes of uninterrupted CPR on an adult and infant manikin.

HLTAID0010 Provide basic emergency life support

This unit of competency provides the skills and knowledge required to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies. This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other First Aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance.

Course Duration: 6 hours of face to face training.

HLTAID011 Provide first aid

This unit is to acquire competency in providing First Aid in a variety of scenarios and is the course prescribed by the WorkSafe Compliance Code – First Aid in the Workplace.

The knowledge, skills and confidence gained will enable you to provide a basic first aid response, emergency life support, management of casualties, the incident and other first aiders until help arrives.

Annual Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) refresher is recommended.
